What is Foyers?
Food, Friends and Fun
|
Foyer is a French word which means a hearth or a warm place of welcome. A Foyer's group consists of 8 to 10 people who meet once a month for a meal and socializing as a small group. Each group is unique and decides the format for their individual group. This may include potluck dinners, meeting at a restaurant, attending a concert, playing games, a picnic on the beach, or a Sunday brunch after church. At the end of four months, new groups are formed.
Participants represent various segments of the church family: single person, married couples, men, women, people of all ages, active church workers, people who have no other involvement in the church . . . . the whole spectrum. There are no programs, no projects, no assigned topic of conversation. The members simply get to know and love each other as part of the larger community of faith at PBUMC.
The Foyers experience will help to expand and grow the number of people in the church family who get to know one another.
