ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT
Who: Volunteers over the age of 12
What: Adopt-a-Highway Clean up Event
When: Saturday December 6, 2008 -- Safety Brief at 8:00 am Clean-up starts at 8:30 until 11:00
Where: Meet at the Perdido Bay United Methodist Church Community Center parking lot. Clean-up route is along Sorrento Road, between Bauer and the Theo Baars Bridge.

This clean-up event was a success thanks to the hard work from all the volunteers! We had a great turn-out this Saturday, 19 volunteers, including several youth and repeat volunteers showed up to help! We collected 22 bags of trash with a total estimated weight of 330 lbs! Thanks again to all to participated in the event!!” - - Carrie

Please come prepared to get a little dirty! Some of the route has standing water so waders or rain boots might be appropriate! Only closed-toed shoes are allowed and long pants are recommended. Please dress appropriately for sun, rain or wind! Garbage bags, gloves, sunscreen, water and safety gear will be provided by PBUMC and the Department of Transportation. This will be a quarterly event. Future events are tentatively scheduled pending DOT road construction.
