REDEMPTION STORE NEWS:

HELP! We need someone to put donated items of “greater than thrift store value”on Craig’s List or E-Bay. Occasionally something is donated that is worth much more than it will sell for in the store and it would be a great help to have someone who would sell it for us on the internet.  If you would be willing to do this, please call Paula at 492-7702 or Sandra at 492-3965.

SPRING CLEANING? The Thrift Store could use household items, knick-knacks, kitchenware items, linens, furniture, etc. If you have any questions about your donation, please call the Redemption Store at 497-6880.

Relay for Life is looking for donations for our silent auction to be held at Lillian's Pizza on March 1, from 6:00-9:00pm. Holly Shelton and David Shelander will be the entertainment and tickets are $5. Some suggestions for donations: put together a basket with a theme such as an Easter theme with Chocolates, St. Patrick's Day, a spring theme of vegetable seed packets with tools, a small wagon with knee pads and gloves for gardening, artwork, jewelry, kitchen towels, etc. If several people get together on this and use their imagination, it could be fun and less expensive. If you have any questions or would like to donate, please contact Linda Rodgers at 492-0248.

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER USA COMMUNITY...March 2, 2012, is World Day of Prayer. The theme is “Let Justice Prevail.” This theme has been developed by the Christian women of Malaysia. These women who are largely voiceless human beings in their multi-cultural, multi-religious society, know instinctively that peace is the foundation for justice. “Selamet Datang”, “Peace and Welcome”, is what they say to us at the beginning of the worship service. Let Justice Prevail! A holy theme, a holy prayer, a holy work of Christ! Note: World Day of Prayer is a worldwide ecumenical movement begun by Christian women of many traditions who come together each year to observe a common day of prayer on the first Friday in March. We are asking that you pause on Friday, March 2, and offer a prayer for peace and justice.
